Total Gym in Paradise with Chuck Norris

Total Gym Complete Honest Review

Total gym, is it really what it claims? I have received a lot of response from my website which is #7 in google when someone types Personal Trainer and my YouTube channel which has Total Gym exercise videos.

I recently received a question about the Total Gym Gimmick and I thought it deserved further discussion.

First of all, the Total Gym is endorsed by Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris is one of my personal favorites. Just because he’s the most formidable real life and movie action hero of all time could be reason enough for most people to get the Total Gym. That, or the possibility of a roundhouse kick to the face would be another possibility.

All joking aside I have been using the Total Gym with my clients for about 3 years. The version of the Total Gym I use at our fitness studio is called the GTS. The GTS is exactly the same as the Total Gym but it is the commercial version which is a little more sturdy for heavy duty use.

Myself and my clients enjoy using the machine as part of a complete exercise program. The cable exercises are very comparable to the exercises on a cable cross over or free motion machine.

The best exercise is the pull up because it allows you to really isolate your lats. It works very well because laying face down on the bench disallows much of the cheating which you see people who struggle doing a set of regular pull ups. Plus it allows people to do pull ups who couldn’t dream of doing a set of regular pull ups.

What the machine lacks for leg exercises it makes up for with good for arms, shoulders, chest and even abdominal exercises. The machine allows for resistance attachments which would increase the benefit of the leg exercises drastically.

Overall I would consider the Total Gym a solid home workout machine for anyone who has a little extra space or a garage. The machine is no gimmick and can be adjusted to multiple levels of resistance to accommodate for people of many levels of training.

For those of you who do not know how the machine works, there is a bench which slides w/ little or no friction on a raised track. The cables are attached to the top of the bench which are attached to the top of the stand or base.

The stand has multiple levels which determine the amount of resistance you will have for the exercise. The resistance is going to be a percentage of your body weight unless you add resistance to the bench with available attachments or weight plates.

You can transition from exercise to exercise very fast which adds to a great workout in less time. While I wouldn’t prefer the Total Gym over a gym membership or great set of dumbbells and a bench I would say it would be a good purchase for anyone looking to build their fitness levels.

Unlike most “As Seen on TV” products, this is no gimmick and can be used as part of a successful weight loss, muscle gain, strength training or general fitness program.

If you are interested in checking out any of the exercises you can do on the home exercise machine, check out Total Gym Workout Videos on my website. If you decide to purchase one, help support the website by clicking on Chuck Norris or any link to TotalGymDirect.com to purchase a Total Gym.
