The Truth about Fat Loss Diets
When I began designing AskTheTrainer.com I wanted to be sure to convey my my philosophy about health and fitness and the current world of health, exercise and fitness clearly.
I think up to this point I have been true to myself and have avoided all of the cheesy, “secrets” and “truth” and stuff “they” don’t want you to know. I have tried to be brutally honest, straight from the boring textbooks I had to read in college.
I was thinking today if this is a good philosophy or not? I mean, the stuff which I am avoiding is what sells the most. People are even getting rich off of basically lying to people or offering them the false promises of quick results when quick results is not likely for 99% of the people who buy them.
For now I will definitely stick to the no B.S. style of writing about health and fitness. I feel sorry for anybody who goes to the obvious used car salesmen style B.S. snake oil selling sites.
The latest pages on the website are about the ultimate snake oil infested industry of weight loss.
It seems if every single person in the United States didn’t spend so much money on excess food to get overweight, then weight loss supplements to lose the weight, every single person in this country would be a millionaire!
While that may or may not be true, you can be rest assured that each weight loss supplement and fat loss diet is going to be a major part of the fitness industry and will remain in the spotlight for years to come.
On the page for the website the point which was made is the correct view. Each individual person has their own individual needs. A fat loss diet for Oprah will not work for you. Why? Because you aren’t Oprah!
It seems that over the last 20+ years it is very common for people to reach for the diet and nutrition advice of total strangers, some who happen to be experts, some quaks and some idiots.
In this personal trainer’s humble opinion you may as well take the idiots advice over the experts because it will save you money and you will most likely get the same results.
This is not to say a dietitian or nutritionist is not worth it. A book written by a dietitian or nutritionist is most likely a complete waste of time unless it tells you the Truth about Fat Loss Diets. Well, there goes the attempt at not being cheesy
The truth about fat loss diets can be summed up in a single sentence. You, and only You can determine the best fat loss diet for You.
Whether you write down what you eat in a nutrition journal and analyze yourself or write down what you eat in a diet journal and let your dietitian analyze it you will ultimately determine your optimal fat loss or weight loss diet.
Even if you goto a dietitian or nutritionist and don’t have a journal, you will be the one filling out the survey about your habits which the dietitian or nutritionist will enter into a computer program which will spit out your weight loss diet.
Your article is right on!!! There is a war between nutritional quackery, media bull versus the personal trainer exercise programming. Isn’t funny how complicated the media makes eating? The media assumes we are all stupid, in a NYC hurry and simply don’t have time for eating, nevertheless adequate food preparation. I like your blog alot. We are on the same page in our thinking.
