Google is Looking to Knock Out Microsoft
I am a personal trainer in San Francisco. This is the reason why you should read my opinion.
I honestly know very little about the business aspect of giant technology / internet companies such as Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft. With so many experts out there and so much in the news about who wants to buy who and who wants to merge with who there are a lot of expert analysis about the subject.
Experts form their opinions from their deep knowledge and experience on the subject. Sometimes they can out-think themselves and are blind to what is obvious.
What is obvious to me as a semi-casual onlooker is Google is trying to take a big chunk out of Microsoft and in the future maybe Google will be the end of Microsoft?
I was previo.usly on the elliptical today at the gym and was reading the San Francisco Chronicle and read that Google just became partners with Yahoo for their advertising program. This is absolutely HUGE.
Microsoft was trying to acquire Yahoo to get their small chunk of the search engine market which is dominated by Google. It is the reason why Google continues to pile in the cash.
This is basically a big bitch slap to the back of the head to Microsoft from Yahoo. This tells Microsoft that there’s 0 chance they will sell. This is why Microsoft is considering filing an anti trust lawsuit against either Google or Yahoo because they think Yahoo divulged information to Google.
What this does now is puts Microsoft in a whole. They really have nowhere to go online now. Their online presence is dwindling and now there is nothing which they can do to stop Google from taking over everything.
I see Google docs now being used as much as MS word. Google has social network plans coming as well as hundreds of apps which are mostly free.
From what I’ve heard they’ve been hiring all the best programming minds in the Bay Area making it very hard for every other company to find good people. Other companies are going as far as to paying enormous finder’s fees for quality software guys. To me it looks like Google is up to something big.
What the big something is I would guess would be an operating system. What do you do when you first turn on your computer? Go online right? What do you search with? Most likely Google and even if you don’t other websites use Google’s search technology. You already get Google ads (now Yahoo / Google ads) on most websites and even your email.
Just think how much more exposure Google could get if your computer was actually ran by them. I don’t know how it would work, but I can see an operating system which is based online. Maybe all software would be browser based and your computers HDD would be used strictly for downloaded media?
As I said, I’m not even close to being an expert on any of this stuff, but I can see Google taking over your computer in the near future…. that is … if it already hasn’t.
I agree, Google is kicking some serious Microsoft ass. Not so sure however that Google apps is ever going to take over Microsoft Office on the corporate front.
