Another Day Another Page Another 10,000 Pieces of Info to Digest

Posted by Mike Behnken, MS, CSCS

Today was another one of those ADD days in which I spent all day trying to do some things which I only got like 1/10 of it done.  I created a new page for AskTheTrainer.com about posture problems.  I am about 90% done but I think I will finish tomorrow.

Posture problems was very difficult to write because my Master’s degree dealt with many aspects of posture problems.  I didn’t want to write too clinical which was difficult because it will confuse my target audience.

I checked my google analytics and found that my legs and butt exercises page was highly visited even though it hasn’t been built yet.  I just checked it and it already has 5 people who gave it thumbs up on stumble upon.  I was thinking of doing a few videos for the exercises but my best leg exercises page covers it.

I am torn between doing exercise videos for exercises which are worth while for almost 100% of people and putting some exercise videos of exercises which are probably a waste of time for most people.  I guess that is the advantage of personal training people in person.  I can’t help each and every person who visits my site personally, but I guess I will give them the information they are looking for.  I will be 100% professional and truthful without misleading people to sell them something.
Speaking of my target audience, I was supposed to work on my San Francisco Personal Training website fitSF.com but I never got around to it.  I have to change the site to make it focus strictly on my personal training services rather than information.

I have learned through my experience with SBI that the most important aspect of internet website success is targeted presold traffic.  If someone is looking for a personal trainer and they see a bunch of information they will probably be confused and look elsewhere.

I read a great quote a few days ago and it said, “If I had more time, I would have written less.”  I thought this pretty much sums up writing in most cases.
