Almost Ready to Start Creating Content in my SBI site

Posted by Mike Behnken, MS, CSCS

I am amazed that I’ve spend almost 2 weeks listening to the “action guide” which is the very slow 10 day instructions to creating a successful website. SitBuildit.com has exceeded all my expectations. Just when I thought I was ready to start the site, I learn something new and have to take a step back. They provide so much important information I finally gave up my fast ways and have listened to every minute of their audio/visual presentation a few times each.

I just chose my domain name last night and it is AskPersonalTrainers.com which I was surprised was still available. It is kind of against SBI’s philosophies to have such a general “non niche” domain name, but I plan to go extremely big with this site. That domain name will allow me to create more than just AskTheTrainer.com which I will forward to the previous site.

Eventually I will try to create sort of a social network for other personal trainers. Hopefully I will travel to where they are and observe their style and personality so I can write helpful reviews for people. I will also sell or place other trainers on the site with a picture of them, and their email, so if someone online anywhere in the world feels a connection and wants to ask them a question, all they have to do is click.

I will start my site, which will take months in a few minutes. The last “small thing” I have to worry about is whether to choose to upload my own html or using their beginners style templates. I was being facetious when I said “small thing.” This decision will be a very difficult decision, because SBI stresses simplicity but I think their sites are too plain for my taste. I want a very cool, visual site with many pictures and many videos. Site Build It is highly recommended by me or anybody.

I recommended it to my friend from high school who has absolutely zero computer experience and he was sold and wants to start a site about his battles with Chron’s Disease. I think he will be successful if he finds the time while raising his 2 kids and supporting a family. I’m rooting for him.
