Nothing to blog about…

Posted by Mike Behnken, MS, CSCS

Well there was a lunar eclipse tonight.  I got my camcorder out to possibly record, but it turned out to be pretty unexciting.  I didn’t even stick around to see it finish.

Today was one of those days where you have a bunch of things planned but you don’t do very many of them.   With that note I just pured a glass of shiraz which I will use to tire me out so I can go to sleep at a reasonable time.  I’ve been eating like an animal lately and I think it is because my sleeping patterns are downright wrong.

I’ve been going to sleep at 3 or 4 AM lately and waking up around 11 or noon.  When I used to have early morning clients and I had messed up sleeping patterns I used to eat like a pig too.  It was different because I was only getting 5-6 hours of sleep, but I think just having abnormal sleeping patterns makes it difficult to stay on track with diet and exercise.

I have had clients in the past and present who are trying to lose weight who have this problem too.  They try everything and do most things right but the weight doesn’t’ come off.  It is difficult because there is really nothing I can do about a clients sleeping patterns other than advise them against having poor resting habits.
