Starting is the Most Difficult Part of Writing

Posted by Mike Behnken, MS, CSCS

Being a personal trainer full time over the last 5 years has made my writing skills diminish.  Now I am getting into the writing thing again, I am slowly redeveloping my writing skills.  Now that I’m ready to start a big website project and write paid articles for a  fitness website to start I’m getting stressed about writing.

The most difficult thing that stresses me out is starting out.  I find it difficult to start because I do not know where to start.  Usually once I start I have no problem but starting can sometimes take me two or 3 times as long as writing the majority of the article.  I was going to see if anybody out there can give me a couple writing tips about the best ways to start writing an article.

I spent most of my day, a rainy, cold terrible day I might ad, sitting in front of this laptop and it seems like I didn’t get anything done.  I did submit some articles to free article directories but didn’t get any real web publishing done.  Tomorrow I’m training clients from 2-9pm and have Japanese class Saturday morning, then the superbowl on sunday.  I’m supposed to get the article for the website done by Monday so I better drink some coffee or something to help me focus.

  1. I agree. Whatever it is we’re doing or writing, to begin it is one of the hardest parts.
